Meteor Crash

The year is 199X. In the town of Onett, Eagleland, a boy named Ness sleeps soundly.

A huge crash outside wakes him up. You take control of Ness.

Here you will see that you can already do basic things like check your items and equipment. For some reason, you are sleeping with an ATM Card in your pocket. You weirdo.

The first room you will encounter upstairs is your sister's room. There you can find a Cracked bat. Your first weapon! Grab it and go downstairs.

Your mom is too scared to see what the noise was, and if you talk to her she asks you not to go out. But she knows you'll still go out anyway, so she makes you change out of your pajamas into regular clothes. Note that if you don't talk to her you can go outside in your pajamas.

Outside you see police blocking the road. Go west towards the hill. Talk to the police along the way for some humorous comments.

There are items like a Bread Roll along the way in presents.

At the top of the hill you'll find Pokey running around pestering everyone. Talk to him and he'll tell you to go home.

When you head home, you'll find your mom waiting for you. Talk to her and she'll make you go back to bed.

You're woken up with some insane knocking happening on your door. It is literally vibrating off the hinges.

Walk towards the door and Pokey will barge into the room. His brother Picky is lost and if he doesn't find him, his parents will beat the living Poo out of him. He gives you no choice but to look for Picky with him. Talk to your mom to change into your normal clothes.

Your mom recommends that you take your dog King with you even though she thinks he is useless. Talk to him to bring him along.

Talk to Pokey and he will join your party. In typical earthbound fashion, right before you leave, the phone starts ringing... it's your dad.

He will let you know you can save your game by calling him and that you can use your ATM card to access the money he will be depositing for you.

Before you leave, chat with Tracy to get a free Cookie.

This will be your first time encountering enemies. They are pretty easy to defeat in this area.

Go back to the meteor from earlier and there you'll find Picky sleeping. If you talk to him he will wake up. On your way back past the meteor you'll hear a buzzing sound as you meet Buzz Buzz the bee. He will tell you all the things.

On your way to take Pokey and Picky home, you will encounter your fist boss battle.

There isn't much to this battle. Buzz Buzz is going to be doing most of the heavy lifting.  He will make sure to protect your party with PSI Shields that block all of Starman Jr.'s attacks. 

Just throw some punches in for good measure. This is probably one of the easiest battles in the entire game.

Back at their house, the kids will go upstairs where they are severely punished. Good thing your mom doesn't care if you're out running around in the middle of the night.

Then, their Mom freaks out about Buzz Buzz and swats at him. Somehow, Buzz Buzz was able to defeat Starman Jr., but one strike from Pokey's mom and he's done for. 

After Buzz Buzz is down for the count, he will explain to you the primary goal of the game... to collect eight melodies on the Sound Stone. Remember, if your inventory is full, he will give it to your sister instead of you so that you don't have to carry it the whole game.

Upon leaving their house it will become daytime and the main theme of Onett will begin to play.

On the way home, you'll have your first encounter with Photo-Man! Good thing he never shows up again...

Go inside and have some steak or whatever. Before you leave, if your talk to your Mom, she will give you a pep talk before you head out on your adventure.
