Lilliput Steps

Just east of the tunnel that lead you to the Shack you'll find another tunnel that leads to your second Sanctuary spot.

Before you go in make sure you stock up on some food.

When you first rescue Paula she'll start out at level 1.

If you try to go straight to the Sanctuary boss Paula will probably die along the way. You can take her back to the town hospital if she does die.

It is recommended that you fight the Mole Playing Rough right at the entrance until you get Paula at roughly the same level as you.

Before you go too far into the caves you'll probably also want to call your Mom. Ness can get homesick and will start missing your hits in battle a lot.

Go back to the Drug Store and use the pay phone to call her.

Once you're ready, make your way through the caves towards the boss.

You will find a couple of items along the way that can be helpful.

Check the map for locations.

Make sure you use healing items before you enter the battle so that you don't start with low HP but have as much PP as possible.

Check the shining spot and the battle will start.

If you've leveled up Paula this battle shouldn't be very tough.

The biggest thing you'll need to watch out for is Paula's HP dipping too low. He can knock her out quite easily.

One trick to make quick work of this battle is to start with Paralysis.

This will cause Mondo's body to become numb for the remainder of the battle.

Throw a few Freeze and Rockin at him and soon Mondo Mole will be no more.

Walk through and you'll enter the second sanctuary, Lilliput Steps.

Ness will have a vision and the melody will be recorded on your soundstone.
